Moringa oleifera
Moringa oleifera (drumstick tree) is one of the most nutritionally dense plants known. We're growing PKM-1 variety for its high pod yield and tender leaves suitable for commercial supply to health food markets.
Moringa requires minimal water after establishment, grows fast, and every part â leaves, pods, seeds â has commercial value. It's an ideal intercrop and fits our sustainability goals perfectly.
Growing Process
Nursery: Seeds sown in polybags in July, transplanted at 6-8 weeks
Spacing: 2.5m à 2.5m for maximum canopy and easy harvesting
Irrigation: Drip at root zone, 2-3 liters/day initially
Pruning: Cut to 1m height at 3 months to encourage branching
Fertilization: High nitrogen initially, then reduced for pod formation

Challenges Faced
Moringa is frost-sensitive â not an issue in Jharkhand's climate
Pest pressure from aphids and caterpillars on young leaves
